With twenty-six years of fast-pitch coaching experience, Coach Tom Wysocki has instructed every level from tee-ball through college. He is an ACE-certified softball coach and a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
An experienced clinician and author, Coach Wysocki’s articles on teaching fastpitch softball have been published in “Fastpitch Delivery,” the monthly newsletter of the NFCA. On the collegiate level, Coach Wysocki served as head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
His experience coaching competitive travel ball includes the Frankfort Flames (14U, 16U & 18U, including some of the best-ever Flames teams), the Joliet Firebirds 18U team and the Lincoln Way Lasers 18U team. More recently, Coach founded the Illinois Angels travel softball organization. He has coached their 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams. His 2008 18U Angels team was selected from 2354 teams nationwide to compete in the 2008 USA/ASA National Fastpitch Championship tournament. Only 120 teams were so honored. Coach Wysocki is also the training director for the entire Angels' organization.
His students have been successful in high school programs throughout the south suburbs. Many of them have gone on to play at colleges across the country including Stanford, Michigan, Illinois, DePaul, North Central, North Park, St. Francis, Franklin, St. Xavier, Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Elmhurst, and St. Mary (Notre Dame).
His areas of special interest include the philosophy of coaching youth sports, pitching (beginning and intermediate) and catching, infield play, hitting and base-running.
